We thought it was about time for an update of our hugely popular article on fabulous baby shower venues in Stellenbosch that were published way back in 2013. Since publishing the article ‘Fab place for a baby shower in Stellenbosch‘ a few amazing new venues have opened their doors for business in town. Other venues have moved location or donned their old jackets for a completely new look. Here are some additional new (and old-made-new) venues to complement our pretty fabulous list of baby shower venues:
The Mont Marie restaurant on Whitey Basson’s Klein Dasbosch farm is beautiful, serene and an overall stunning venue to host a baby shower. Quality food, gorgeous views on the mountains, a setting that overlooks a dam and a charming enclosed play area for the kids will tick plenty of boxes in a search for the perfect baby shower venue. The newly renovated tasting room and deli at Lanzerac provides a cozy atmosphere for a baby shower. Situated close to town and adding a touch of old grandeur that you would expect from a 300 year old wine estate, Lanzerac is the perfect choice for hosting an intimate baby shower in a rustic but modern setting on a wine estate. The deli is laid-back but elegant enough for celebrating the mom-to-be in style.

Ride In Café
Ride In Café may make you think of bicycle enthusiasts but this pretty venue is open for functions. Ride In is a peaceful and quiet venue set on a flower farm in Jonkershoek. The grass terrace is perfect for an outdoors baby shower or, alternatively, the venue has an inside venue for hosting Winter baby showers with glass doors that still offers a view on the pretty Jonkershoek mountain range. The “new” Birdcage
Birdcage has moved to a venue lower down in Plein Street and sports a new look at its new location in Aan de Gragt Building. The new venue can accommodate functions for groups of 20 and smaller. Breakfast, Lunch, Cake and tea platter options are available for functions. Known for its scrumptious cakes and cupcakes, Birdcage is the ultimate venue for a cake and tea party in Stellenbosch.

Apart from serving some of the best coffee in town, Terbodore Coffee, Showroom in Bird Street is a stylish interior decorating store and café. An eclectic mix of different styles and decor elements are thrown together in this coffee shop but the end result is one pretty shop. Beautiful interior products can be purchased in store – in fact everything that you see on the tables can be bought. Showroom is the perfect venue for a girly-yet-stylish or dress-up baby shower at a convenient location in the middle of town.

The Demo Kitchen
For a baby shower with a twist, invite a few of your besties and learn how to cook a gourmet meal at The Demo Kitchen. The Demo Kitchen is the brainchild of food blogger Ilse van der Merwe aka The Foodfox. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, a three-course dinner demo is hosted from 19h00-21h00. Dinners are demonstrated by Ilse and her team. Courses are paired with wine or for those who do not drink alcohol or mommies-to-be Appletizer or Grapetizer. The Demo Kitchen is also open for private functions. Definitely a great idea for a girls’ night out!
