The biggest jungle gym at Eaglevlei

Eaglevlei sports the biggest jungle gym that I have ever seen at a wine farm in the Stellenbosch area. In fact on their website they call it the biggest jungle gym in the Western Cape… We first visited this wine farm after friends recommended it to us. Unfortunately it was raining cats and dogs the first time we went there. Although it was not the ultimate jungle gym-ming weather, we still enjoyed the cozy atmosphere inside and the fact that TV’s inside allow dad to watch that all important rugby match. Eaglevlei is a perfect venue for summer time when you want your kids to play outside on the jungle gym or jumping castle that they offer. Parents may choose to sit inside the restaurant or, if the sun is shining, at the tables outdoor that is right next to the jungle gym. Toddlers can run around on the grass as the jungle gym may be too advanced/ tricky for them to climb.

This wine farm feels down-to-earth and the staff is friendly. A good choice of venue to take the kids to if you want them to play until they’re too tired to go on playing. I assure you that after a morning spent playing on that huge jungle gym they will gladly be put to bed very early that evening…

Baby-friendly:  5/10

Kid-friendly:  9/10

Adult-friendly: 8/10

Why Eaglevlei is child-friendly?

  • one huge jungle gym
  • if the jungle gym is not enough, there is also a jumping castle
  • may be easy to convince dad to go there if he knows there is a TV inside for the rugby

Kids parties

Eaglevlei is one of a few wine farms in Stellenbosch that offers kids parties and you can contact them through their website here for more info or to arrange a party. Kids can have a fun-filled day on the jungle gym, jumping castle and a 12 meter water slippery slide. The venue provides party packs and food for the parents from their restaurant can also be arranged.

Notes – November 2015 – Eaglevlei recently launched an indoor play area. Watch this space for an article coming soon!
